The sorry state of our capital was laid bare once again this week after shocking footage of an incident at Speakers’ Corner went viral.
39-year-old Christian preacher Hatun Tash, a convert from Islam, was brutally attacked by an armed thug in a long dark coat at the famous London spot, which is renowned worldwide as a venue for free speech and open debate.
The man attacked the woman, who was wearing a defiant Charlie Hebdo T-shirt, before being chased off by members of the public.
She is seen in a subsequent clip with blood dripping down the side of her head after being slashed across the face by the lunatic.
“In my early days, Speakers’ Corner was a much calmer place. Now it is not and I am regularly attacked by a Muslim mob” said brave Ms Tash following the incident.
“We don’t live in Pakistan, we don’t live in Saudi Arabia. I am Christian and by default, I believe that Muhammad is a false prophet. I should be allowed to say that in the UK.”
What has it come to when a site as well known and beloved as Speakers’ Corner becomes a scene of what appears to be religiously motivated violence?
This campaign spoke out immediately after Muslim protesters in Yorkshire demonstrated outside Batley Grammar School because of offence that had allegedly been caused by a Religious Studies teacher showing a cartoon of Muhammad in class.
That teacher has been cleared to return to work, but it is not known if he did return at the end of term or not – he was forced into hiding under police watch because of the danger posed to his life for daring to offend the wrong religion and he was still in hiding as of a month ago.
Britain is a Christian country. We do not have blasphemy laws. People are free to believe what they want. It is utterly unacceptable for religious minorities to force school teachers into hiding, and it’s beyond sickening that some members of these communities now feel emboldened to slash Christian preachers in the face in broad daylight.
How disturbing, then, that the strongest condemnation of the attack didn’t come from our own establishment media but rather from Australia, where news host Andrew Bolt hit out at the UK’s mainstream press for failing to cover the attack adequately.
Reflecting on the lack of press coverage, Mr Bolt said: “People who physically attacked those who did criticise Islam were once seen as the problem, and we reacted in proper horror when Muslim extremists killed 11 cartoonists and journalists at the Charlie Hebdo magazine for drawing cartoons of Islam… but in Britain and much of the English-speaking world it is now the critic of Islam who is the villain and who must shut up.”
Well said, Mr Bolt. This campaign and our news website The Foxhole will never shy away from exposing the reality of what is going on!
Just like we were not afraid to shy away from the ongoing illegal immigration crisis going on in the English Channel last week.
When we wrote to you last, numbers were surging and we had no choice but to speak out about it. We backed Boris Johnson and his team to get Brexit done and take back control of our borders but, when it comes to illegal immigration, they have dropped the ball.
This week saw further interventions from Brexit icon Nigel Farage and Leave.EU chairman Arron Banks, who refused to be cowed by mainstream media pressure and emotional blackmailing about the work of the RNLI.
The RNLI does incredible work saving lives at sea and across our coastline in dangerous conditions, for which they should be rightly celebrated, but it does have to be asked how we’ve reached a position where, to paraphrase Nigel, they are forced to do the work of the UK’s Border Force.
“It’s common sense that if RNLI and others facilitate safe passage across the channel, more will come in increasing numbers. Why not rescue and return to France? The only policy that would work is the Australian policy of zero tolerance.”
Indeed that’s exactly what Nigel is advocating too, calling on the government to draft in former Aussie PM Tony Abbott to get the job done. With our own politicians seemingly unable to get a handle on the situation, we think it sounds like a bloody good idea…
Even when the mainstream media is silent about violent attacks on free speech and Christian preaching, or when they join forces to emotionally blackmail the country into backing illegal immigration, we’ll stand firm and speak out for common sense.
